FB Architecture have worked for leading Retirement Housebuilder McCarthy & Stone Retirement Lifestyles Ltd designing a number of high quality specialist residential developments, including Retirement Living and Assisted Living developments.
We have also been involved on numerous sites at feasibility stage developing sketch schemes to assess the viability of sites and have successfully supported a number of schemes through Planning Enquiries.
FB Architecture produced an amended design based on a previous proposal produced by McCarthy & Stone to secure planning permission for this site in a Conservation Area, and went on to develop construction information. The building was completed in spring 2016
Designed by Martin Mence for McCarthy & Stone, the development is on a sensitive site in the Conservation Area and replaced a locally listed police station and courthouse building. FB Architecture represented the scheme at a successful planning appeal and went on to produce construction information. The building was completed in summer 2016

Designed by Martin Mence the development retained the former County Arms PH, a 1930's modernist / Art Deco building and local landmark. The develoment of 55 Assisted Living apartments is designed in a modern style to compliment the existing building.
The building's layout provides a south facing entrance courtyard in the centre of the site and also makes best advantage of its canal-side garden setting. FB Architecture developed construction drawings and worked with McCarthy & Stone to completion of the building in 2015

This 'Ortus' development comprised 21 larger luxury retirement apartments. Set in a sensitive Conservation area FB Architecture's design reflected the character of the large Victorian Villas in the local area.
FB Architecture successfully represented the scheme at a planning Appeal.
The development is now on site and due for completion in 2017

This Retirement Living development for McCarthy & Stone fits in with its suburban location. Designed by FB Architecture, the semi enclosed courtyard layout optimises the use of a constrained site, and integrates car parking requirements and good landscaping. The development is due for completion in summer 2017.
